FOMAR Annual Reports
Each year, Friends of Megan Animal Rescue publishes an annual report. We are committed to transparency and openness, and we make our reports publicly available via this website. We also take the opportunity when drafting our annual reports to summarize the past year of operations and to lay out our vision for the future.

2023
Last year was a very busy year for Rebecca. She wound up taking in a number of severely injured dogs, which created significant vet bills. Thus our expense total was much higher than the previous year. However, we were lucky to have some very generous donors who contributed significantly to those costs...
2022
2022 was a banner year for donations. For the first time, we brought in more than $20,000 -- a 60% increase over 2021 and the most we have ever raised in one year. One of our primary goals for 2023 is to broaden our base of donors because even though the number was higher, the number of donors was smaller...
2020
As we all know, 2020 was an unusual and difficult year for everyone. The COVID pandemic prevented FOMAR from holding the sterilization clinics that it intended and, in general, prevented much of the personal interaction that would have brought increased animal rescues. But despite that, rescues continued...
2019
What a difference a year can make! 2018: 80 sterilizations, 8 rescues, 20 adoptions. 2019: 111 sterilizations, 83 rescues, 69 adoptions! These numbers alone should make it plain that our Executive Director Rebecca Raab who needed to spend much of 2018 in the US was back in Oaxaca at the helm of FOMAR in 2019...
2018
2018 was a year of discovery for FOMAR. Early in the year, the guiding force behind FOMAR, our Executive Director Rebecca Durden Raab, discovered that her cancer had returned, and she needed to return to the U.S. for treatment. We weren’t sure what that would mean for FOMAR. To our great relief and satisfaction, we discovered that FOMAR was much more than one person...
2017
All of us at Friends of Megan Animal Rescue (FOMAR) are looking forward to the year ahead with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm due in large part to the successes of 2017. For the first year since Rebecca Durden Raab began her rescue mission over 16 years ago, all of her animal-rescue expenses were paid for by FOMAR, the 501(c)3 we established three years ago...
2016
Thank you for taking the time to look at the 2016 annual report for Friends of Megan Animal Rescue (FOMAR). It was a unique year for us, as Rebecca Durden Raab, our executive director, will explain in her message that follows. But our work here continues, and we are excited because 2017 marks the beginning of FOMAR’s third year as a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit, which means, of course, that all donations in the U.S. are considered tax-deductible by the IRS...
